Cloud Computing as a basis for Digitisation Projects

Alte Leipziger-Hallesche is a property, life, and health insurer in Germany with almost 3,000 employees. By moving applications to the public cloud, the company wants to improve the employee experience and create the basis for implementing a cloud-first digitalisation strategy.

The public cloud offers immediate scalability and state-of-the-art tools to help accelerate digital business and prepare for new and emerging use cases. In the highly regulated insurance industry, error-free implementation and zero-downtime are paramount to ongoing reliability and trust.
The group was looking for an IT service provider who could help analyse their current estate and evaluate the opportunities that come with a move to the cloud.

In order to assess the basis for digitisation projects in the public cloud, Computacenter specialists carried out a Cloud Maturity Assessment (CMA) as a first step. The CMA is a structured procedure developed by Computacenter that compares the current state of the customer’s IT infrastructure with the desired target state, taking into account technical, process-related, and organisational aspects.

Thanks to the comprehensive and structured approach, a roadmap for the use of cloud services in the Alte Leipziger-Hallesche Group was created through a series of direct interviews and workshops during a sprint process.

Computacenter helped shape our path to the public cloud with its structured approach and use of the Cloud Maturity Assessment - it’s a good feeling to have a committed and competent partner at our side.
