NHS Shared Business Services Ltd (NHS SBS) is concerned with driving improved procurement and commercial efficiencies initially across the health economy within United Kingdom to deliver highest quality patient and social care by:

  • Obtaining improved quality of goods and services through the provision of world class procurement, commercial services and leverage to enable cash releasing savings that will be reinvested, to enhance the quality of patient care their safety and also to reduce process inefficiencies and waste.
  • Providing competent purchased healthcare project management support that meets the needs of our Approved Organisations.​ NHS SBS is partially funded by NHS SBS NHS Contracting Income Stream from suppliers for framework agreements and other financial services for its wider offering. The Approved Organisations have fully endorsed and signed up to this model. (See Appendix 4 for more information)
  • For Approved Organisations it is a sustainable funding model that enables NHS SBS to provide on-going procurement, commercial services and advice that our Approved Organisations require.
  • For suppliers, it supports our investments to maximise contract uptake and compliance helping our preferred suppliers increase business volume.

The objective of this project is to implement a contractual vehicle to facilitate the procurement of quality, value for money products or services by approved organisations.

The framework agreement will be for the benefit of Approved Organisations aligned to NHS SBS and NoE CPC. At the discretion of NHS SBS and NoE CPC, this could include other public and private sector organisations (whether acting individually, or on behalf of, or together as members of any consortia) along with any other public and private sector organisations which NHS SBS and NoE CPC deem necessary for the delivery of Link 3: IT Hardware and Services.​
